The Surveying Profession and practice in Uganda is governed by the Surveyors Registration Act (Cap 275). The Regulatory Body for the Surveying Profession is the SURVEYORS REGISTRATION BOARD. Section 1 of the Surveyors Registration Act defines a “Surveyor” to include:- Valuation Surveyors, Land Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, Mining and Hydrological Surveyors, as well as Land Agents and other Professionals responsible for the management of Land and/or buildings. Please NOTE that it is illegal for any person to practice surveying in Uganda, without a Registration Certificate AND A VALID Practising Certificate issued by the Board. A Practising Certificate is issued by the Board annually on application by a Registered Surveyor and it expires on 31st December. The UNSUSPECTING PUBLIC AND ALL AUTHORITIES should take serious NOTE of this and DEMAND for both Certificates from persons holding themselves out as Surveyors in all the above disciplines. The following are the Registered Surveyors with valid Practicing Certificates for the year 2024.
